Design Engineer - Aerostructures Location: Montreal, Canada Work Model: Onsite / Remote Employment Type: Full-time We are hiring a Design Engineer - Aerostructures to support aircraft structural design, integration, and engineering definition for new development programs and in-service aircraft. This role focuses on primary and secondary aerostructures, including metallic and composite structures, manufacturability, design definition, and airworthiness compliance. Responsibilities: - Create and maintain 3D digital mock-ups for primary and secondary aerostructure components - Support aerostructure design from concept through production - Prepare and update 2D engineering drawings with integrated working instructions - Ensure designs meet fit, form, function, manufacturability, and airworthiness requirements - Support stress, weights, and certification teams by providing accurate design definition - Provide continuous engineering support to manufacturing and in-service operations - Design and integrate metallic and/or composite aerostructure components and assemblies - Manage product structure using CAD and PLM tools - Investigate complex design issues and develop technical solutions - Identify design risks and weight optimization opportunities - Review technical documentation and participate in design reviews - Act as a technical reference and support junior engineers when required Required Qualifications: - College or University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline - Minimum 5 years of relevant aerostructure design experience - Experience designing aircraft primary or secondary structures - Hands-on CATIA experience - Experience with ENOVIA or similar PLM tools - Experience creating 3D models and 2D engineering drawings - Ability to support manufacturing, production, or in-service aircraft activities - Strong technical documentation and design review skills - Ability to work in a multidisciplinary aerospace engineering environment - Citizen, Permanent Resident, or valid work permit holder Preferred Qualifications: - Aerospace manufacturing industry experience - Knowledge of airworthiness certification requirements - Experience with systems installation integration - Metallic and composite aircraft structure design experience - Experience supporting stress, weights, or certification activities - Experience mentoring or supporting junior engineers
