The KRG is currently seeking to recruit an energetic and motivated candidate to work, in the capacity of; AIRPORT MAINTAINER, QUAQTAQ) (Permanent, full-time position) Reporting to the Coordinator, Operations of the Transportation Department and working closely with the other staff members, the Maintainer will have the following responsibilities, without being limited: Act as heavy equipment operator on various heavy equipment such as trucks, snow blowers, snowplows, pay loaders, graders, compactors etc., used for airport and airport access road summer and winter maintenance; Remove snow from runway, taxiway and apron according to Transport Canada standards; Execute minor repairs and daily checks on the airport machinery; Assist the KRG mechanics or other mechanics when they work on the machinery; to keep the garage clean and free of debris; Execute minor repair works on buildings, such as, but not exclusively, repair broken windows, making sure that oil level is sufficient in the heating oil reservoirs, checking furnaces, adjusting doors, painting etc.; Shovel snow around runway lights and around building entrances and garage doors; Keep the garage clean and in good order; Report all irregularities to the airport Observer/Communicator, such as malfunctioning of runway lights, strobe lights, taxiway and apron lights, foreign objects on the aircraft movement areas etc. Perform any other duties as required. REQUIREMENTS: Minimum 2 years of experience in the above-mentioned fields of activities or knowledge of maintenance methods of heavy equipment. Relevant work experience will also be considered; Have a valid driver license; Shall obtain a restricted radio operator’s certificate; Ability to write and speak at least two of the following languages: English, French or Inuktitut (working knowledge of Inuktitut is a definite asset); Overtime hours may be required at times. Place of work: Quaqtaq Salary: Min.: $43 348 yearly – Max. $71 800 yearly (Class 6) Other benefits: Cost of living differential: Minimum of $11 834/year Food allowance: Minimum of $5 961/year Annual leave trips: Minimum of 3 RRSP: 6.25% employer, 4% employee Group Insurance Vacation: 20 days/year Statutory Holidays: 20 days OFFRE D’EMPLOI L’Administration régionale Kativik (ARK), un organisme supramunicipal qui exerce sa compétence sur le territoire du Québec situé au nord du 55 e parallèle, est à la recherche d’une personne dynamique et motivée pour occuper à Quaqtaq le poste suivant : PRÉPOSÉ À L’ENTRETIEN DE L’AÉROPORT (Quaqtaq) Poste permanent à temps plein Relevant du coordonnateur de l’entretien aéroportuaire du Service des transports de l’ARK et travaillant en étroite collaboration avec les autres membres du personnel, le préposé à l’entretien de l’aéroport s’acquittera notamment des tâches suivantes : Conduire divers types d’équipement lourd tels que des camions, des souffleuses à neige, des chasse-neiges, des chargeuses frontales, des niveleuses, des compacteurs, etc., utilisés pour l’entretien de l’aéroport et de la route d’accès à l’aéroport en été et en hiver. Enlever la neige de la piste d’atterrissage, de la voie de circulation et de l’aire de trafic conformément aux normes de Transports Canada. Effectuer des réparations mineures à l’équipement lourd ainsi que des vérifications quotidiennes. Aider les mécaniciens de l’ARK et d’autres mécaniciens lorsqu’ils effectuent des travaux d’entretien ou des réparations à l’équipement lourd. S’assurer que le garage est propre, en bon état et exempt de déchets. Effectuer des réparations mineures aux bâtiments telles que le remplacement de fenêtres cassées, la vérification des niveaux de mazout dans les réservoirs, la vérification des appareils de chauffage, l’ajustement de portes et des travaux de peinture. Enlever la neige autour des feux de piste, des entrées de bâtiments et des portes de garage. Signaler à l’observateur-communicateur toute irrégularité telle que la défectuosité des feux de piste, des feux stroboscopiques, du système d’éclairage de la voie de circulation et de l’aire de trafic et des corps étrangers sur les aires de mouvement des aéronefs. Exécuter toute autre tâche demandée. La personne sélectionnée doit : Compter plusieurs années d’expérience dans les domaines d’activités susmentionnés ou connaître les méthodes d’entretien de l’équipement lourd. Une expérience de travail pertinente sera également prise en considération. Être titulaire d’un permis de conduire valide. Être titulaire d’un certificat restreint d’opérateur radio. Être capable d’écrire et de lire dans au moins deux des langues suivantes : anglais, français ou inuktitut (la connaissance de l’inuktitut est un atout certain). Salaire : Minimum de 43 348 $ et maximum de 71 800 $ par année (Class 6). Autres avantages : Indemnité de vie chère : minimum de 11 834 $ par année.
