Position Overview Reporting to the Avionics Manager, the Avionics Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and safety of advanced avionics systems across a diverse fleet of helicopters. As a key member of our avionics team, they inspect, install, troubleshoot, repair, modify, and maintain aircraft avionics and electrical systems in accordance with regulatory requirements, manufacturer specifications, and company standards. Through technical expertise, precision workmanship, and attention to detail, they help ensure aircraft leave our facilities operating safely, efficiently, and reliably. As an Avionics Technician, your expertise ensures pilots have the critical navigation, communication, electrical, and flight systems they depend on every day. The quality of your work directly impacts aircraft reliability, operational performance, and flight safety while helping maintain Alpine Aerotech's reputation as a global leader in helicopter maintenance and support. How You’ll Make an Impact Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, modify, install, and maintain aircraft avionics, electrical, navigation, communication, and auto-flight systems in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements. Apply a thorough understanding of aircraft electrical, power generation, navigation, communication, and auto-flight systems on a variety of helicopter platforms. Perform avionics maintenance and installations in accordance with applicable technical manuals, engineering drawings, manufacturer specifications, and standard operating procedures. Diagnose system malfunctions and perform required adjustments, servicing, repairs, modifications, and testing to restore optimal system performance. Complete and accurately document scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory and company requirements. Maintain accurate technical records and certification documentation. Support the development and mentoring of Avionics Apprentices through knowledge sharing and technical guidance. Collaborate with fellow technicians, inspectors, and leadership to achieve production goals while maintaining exceptional quality and safety standards. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, quality, and operational performance. Uphold the professionalism, quality, and technical excellence that defines the Alpine Aerotech brand. What You'll Bring to Our Team Valid Transport Canada AME-E Licence. Experience performing maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and installation of aircraft avionics and related electrical systems. Experience working on Bell, Airbus, or Leonardo helicopters is considered a strong asset. Strong knowledge of aircraft electrical, navigation, communication, and auto-flight systems. Proven troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities with a strong focus on quality, accuracy, and safety. Ability to interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, maintenance manuals, and engineering data. Valid driver's licence. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities. Demonstrated ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment. What you’ll do
The Avionics Technician is responsible for inspecting, installing, troubleshooting, and repairing advanced avionics and electrical systems on a diverse fleet of helicopters. They ensure all work complies with regulatory requirements and manufacturer specifications to maintain flight safety and reliability.
Requirements
Candidates must possess a valid Transport Canada AME-E Licence and a valid driver's licence. Experience with Bell, Airbus, or Leonardo helicopters and a strong ability to interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams are highly valued.
