We need : DO-178B/C, DO-254, DO-330, airborne software & hardware certification

Technical Skills: DO-178B/C, DO-254, DO-330, airborne software & hardware certification, FPGA/ASIC design, embedded software development, requirements tools (DOORS/JAMA), programming (C, C++, Ada, Python, Assembly), HDL (VHDL/Verilog), real-time systems, safety analysis, supplier audit & compliance review

Experience Range: 15+ years (with 10+ years in aeronautics, 5+ years in FPGA/ASIC or embedded aerospace software)

Must Have: • Strong knowledge of DO-178B/C (Airborne Software Certification) • Strong knowledge of DO-254 (Airborne Electronic Hardware Certification) • Experience in embedded software development (aerospace domain) • FPGA / ASIC design and development experience • Safety-critical systems engineering knowledge • Requirements management tools (DOORS / JAMA) • Programming skills: C, C++, Ada, Python • Hardware Description Languages (VHDL / Verilog) • Experience in system design reviews (PDR/CDR) • Verification & Validation (V&V) and test analysis • Supplier assessment / compliance review experience • Knowledge of FAA / EASA certification regulations • Safety of flight / risk assessment experience • Technical documentation and compliance reporting

Good to Have:

• Knowledge of DO-330 (Tool Qualification) • Familiarity with FAA Orders (8110.49A, 8110.105A) • Experience with EASA CM-SWCEH guidelines • Exposure to Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) • Embedded system architecture knowledge • Experience in supplier audits • Model-Based Development (MBD) exposure • Scripting/automation (advanced Python) • Cybersecurity in avionics systems • Experience with civil aircraft certification programs • Mentoring / leadership experience • Agile or hybrid development methods

Roles and responsibilities:

• Participate in preliminary and critical design reviews (PDR/CDR) to ensure system designs meet technical and certification requirements. • Review and assess supplier certification plans for airborne software and electronic hardware in compliance with standards such as DO-178C, DO-254, and DO-330.

• Evaluate embedded software and electronic hardware designs (including FPGA, ASIC, PLD) for correctness, robustness, and traceability. • Conduct technical and process audits at supplier facilities to verify adherence to development processes and regulatory expectations. • Perform safety of flight assessments to identify, analyze, and mitigate potential risks in safety-critical systems. • Analyze verification & validation (V&V) results, test reports, and supporting evidence to determine compliance status. • Lead resolution of technical, safety, and compliance issues, coordinating with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure timely closure. • Prepare and review design assurance and compliance documentation to support certification activities. • Ensure alignment with FAA, EASA, and other airworthiness authority regulations and guidelines. • Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes and the SWEL (Software & Electronics) domain roadmap. • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members. • Act as a key technical interface between Bombardier and suppliers, ensuring effective collaboration and communication.
