Summary/Purpose
Position Description & Qualifications
Responsible to the Lead Terminal Controller for issuing IFR departure clearances, internal/external coordination and
other related ATC duties in support of the Terminal Controller by applying the rules and procedures defined in NAV
CANADA MATS and other publications listed in B-GA-164-000 / AA-001
Ensure compliance with all Serco Canada Inc. policies and procedures, including but not limited to Code of Conduct
and Ethics, Serco Management System, PDR’s, etc.
Key Responsibilities
Shall assist in training of Air Traffic Control personnel. Work closely with the on-duty Terminal Controller to support the provision of IFR control and services as required. Ensure all assigned deliverables and other reports are completed accurately and on time. Visibly demonstrate Serco Values and work practices while completing duties. Other related duties relevant to this position as may be required. Comply with all regulations, policies and procedures pertaining to the operations including occupational health and
safety, environmental, drug and alcohol, and quality.
Entering all pertinent information in the logbook, i.e.; emergencies, cable status, unserviceability’s, active runway, bird
activity, and PIREP’, etc
Job Requirements
EDUCATION /CERTIFICATIONS:
Must be able to pass and maintain a Transport Canada Class II aviation medical. Must have or be able to obtain a Transport Canada Radio Operators certificate. Possession of a valid Class 5 NL Driver’s license. Ability to obtain and maintain Secret Level II security clearance is required. Ability to successfully complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testing Ability to obtain driver’s abstract.
KNOWLEDGE and EXPERENCE
Experience in aviation or airfield related operations would be an asset.
SKILLS/Competencies (Interpersonal Communication, Financial, Managerial, Problem Solving)
Effective communication skills and ability to work cross functionally within the organization. Excellent collaborative and organizational skills. Strong degree of integrity and judgment. Willing to take ownership for the outcomes of tasks within scope of responsibility. Strong planning, coordination, execution and analytical skills. Proven ability to meet deadlines and changing priorities.
