ABOUT THIS POSITION

The Flight Attendant role is key to ensuring the safety, security and comfort of our passengers.

Please note:  You must be available to start as of September 14th when training will commence.  

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Must be able to perform, but not be limited to, the following duties and responsibilities: 

  • · Responsible to ensure that safety is the primary objective by adhering to the Company safety policies and reporting systems to identify and communicate all know hazards and risks to the organization; · Responsible for ensuring all policies, procedures and regulatory requirements are met and followed; · Responsible to maintain personal qualifications, as dictated by Transport Canada regulations or any other applicable agency; · Responsible for reporting irregularities in accordance with Company policy, including relaying safety concerns from crew or passengers to the Purser/In-charge or Captain · Responsible for periodic review of documented processes via reporting discrepancies to Captain or Management · Must maintain a high standard of customer service; including efficient resolution of passenger and crew problems relating to safety as well as any problems with other services on the flight; · Must maintain Company image to the highest standard of conduct and appearance, including keeping all conversations within earshot of the public to a professional and positive nature; · Must have and maintain superior attendance and reliability standards; · Must be able to attend all Company initiated training and maintain qualifications and currency. · Must be able to travel frequently and be away for extended periods of time; · Must maintain all personal security passes, passports or other required documents are kept up to date and applicable copies are provided to the Department · Must ensure completion of all necessary flight related paperwork; · Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Must have excellent health and must be able to pass a Company physical examination;
  • Must have solid leadership capabilities;
  • Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Must be able to perform well under stress and in emergency situations;
  • Must have experience in the customer service industry;
  • Must be adept at managing multiple priorities and must be able to meet deadlines;
  • Must be able to travel extensively, and be away from home for extended periods of time;
  • Must possess a valid and current Canadian Passport and/or be permitted to travel to various destinations;
  • 1 year of previous experience;
  • High School diploma or equivalent related work experience;
  • Inuktitut speaking candidates will be given preference;
  • Ability to obtain and retain an Airport Restricted Area Identity Card in accordance with the Airport Restricted Area Access Clearance Program regulated by Transport Canada.
