About this position

Create and optimize the airline’s flight schedule to maximize profitability and satisfy traveler/cargo demand. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure fleet and airline schedules are accomplishing objectives.

Please note this role is based in Ottawa, ON. Candidates must currently reside in Ottawa or be willing to relocate to be considered.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Must be able to perform, but not be limited to, the following duties and responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the short- and long-range planning of the operating schedule, including allocation of ad hoc flying (charters & freighters).
  • Manage ad hoc requests, providing relevant analysis and expertise as required.
  • Working with Revenue Management team, analyze passenger and cargo demand to optimize route capacities.
  • Update CRS host system as required: schedules, seat maps, reference information, connection and post departure information.
  • Maintain AIMS database used by OCC to manage the flight schedule.
  • Update and maintain AIMS operating system from a Network Planning perspective.
  • Conduct aircraft assessment and evaluations of potential changes to the fleet mix and aircraft configuration.
  • Prepare and distribute schedule information in electronic format; Standard Schedule Information Manual (SSIM).
  • Coordinate Fleet Plan requirements with other departments, including maintenance and crew planning.
  • Arrange for sub-contracted carriers to operate on our behalf for schedule, cargo and charter flights.
  • Obtain and manage arrival/departure slots at airports (i.e., YYZ, YYC, YVR, and other charter destinations as required)
  • Provide schedule distribution to industrial charter clients, and their ground handlers (specific to each client).
  • Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS Include, but not limited to, the following minimum skills and qualifications:
    • Superior problem solving and analytical skills including the ability to develop and analyze conventional and unconventional solutions to problems;
  • Ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines with high workload;
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and prioritize deliverables to meet deadlines, while remaining flexible and responsive to ad hoc requests and projects;
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal & communication skills (written and verbal);
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of the business sector;
  • Solid computer skills, including proficiency in full MS Office Suite. Sabre & AIMS experience preferred;
  • Ability to locate and collect data from appropriate sources and analyze it to prepare meaningful and concise reports that summarize the information;
  • Ability to work in a team setting and collaborate with team members across the organization;
  • Possess a good understanding of the Company markets considered an asset;
  • Ability to communicate in Inuktut a definite asset;
  • Ability to obtain and retain an Airport Restricted Area Identity Card in accordance with the Airport Restricted
  • Area Access Clearance Program regulated by Transport Canada.
