Summary of Responsibilities
As a Repair & Overhaul Component Technician, reporting to the MRO Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for component teardown, evaluation, repair, reassembly and testing for serviceability and airworthiness in accordance with the appropriate maintenance manuals, technical orders and service requirements.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Perform maintenance, repair, overhaul, and alterations as required on aviation articles such as landing gear, wheel, brakes and actuation components.
Perform duties in accordance with the current technical data provided in the manufacturer instructions for Continued Airworthiness, Service Bulletins, service letters, Airworthiness Directives, government and industry standard practices and other data acceptable to or approved by the Canadian Airworthiness Authority or cognizant engineering authority.
Ensure that all required tooling and equipment, including precision measuring tools and inspection aids are operational, safe and within calibration requirements and are handled in accordance with their instructions and intended use.
Review documentation of all previous work accomplished on a product.
Evaluate components and identify necessary piece parts required to perform repairs and overhauls, ensuring that replacement articles are compliant with applicable standards.
Perform incoming, in-process and post-servicing inspections of components.
Interface/coordinate with internal departments such as Sales and Quality Assurance (as required) to support external customer base.
Collaborate with other technical personnel to improve repair methods and skill set.
Properly record work performed on the appropriate maintenance records and within the internal work order system.
Complete all assigned training and adhere to all health, safety, and shop cleanliness requirements by the company.
Other duties as may be assigned.
Requirements and Core Competencies
Minimum of 2 years of experience with maintenance and repair of mechanical and electro-mechanical aircraft components.
Strong mechanical aptitudes.
Plan and perform repair work in accordance with work instructions with minimal supervision.
Strong ability to read and interpret component maintenance manuals and drawings.
Excellent English communication skills (written and spoken). Bilingualism is an asset.
Detail-oriented, organized and excellent time management skills.
Ability to work shifts (if required) to support business needs.
Experience on hydraulic components is desirable
FAA, A&P, Canadian AME certificates is desirable.
