The Departure Control and Facilitation Administrator is a detail-oriented full cycle administrator, responsible for regulatory compliance and operational efficiency. Reporting to the Airport Systems and Special Operations Supervisor, you will have oversight of passenger data management activities and maintain various departure control systems.

As a departure control administrator, you have excellent computer skills and are well versed in Microsoft Office programs. What You'll Do:

  • Monitor Sunwing's secure flight data
  • Proactively inform stations when resolution calls will be required
  • Support departmental relationships with government agencies, tour operator, and company personnel as required
  • Ensure compliance with Advanced Passenger Information System Regulations (APIS), confirm message transmission to customs authorities
  • Manually upload and transmit APIS information for ad-hoc charter flights
  • Dispute fines with supporting research
  • Engage regularly with frontline airport staff and Security regulators to ensure security compliance
  • Act as decision maker for passenger admissibility when requested by airport
  • Conduct resolution calls with Canadian Interactive APIS support desk and US Secure Flight Vetting Centre as required
  • Keep accurate records of all correspondence
  • Operate and manage numerous applications and systems simultaneously
  • Prepare, maintain and update files, records, as required Create Seat Splits for multi-sector flights.
  • Ensure Stations are utilizing only those seats assigned to them, for the departure, arrival and crossover sectors
  • Ensure compliance with Sunwing's Ground Handling Manual (GHM), assist ground handling staff with various questions related to company policy
  • Ensure all Quality Control Messages (QCM's) are uploaded into the Sunwing Operations Website
  • Categorize cabin crew flight reports (CCFR's) and enter in to the Sunwing Operations Website
  • Assist with various projects as assigned
  • Ensure all flights are properly loaded into the System; assign the aircraft tails and pre-vet all flights
  • Ensure PNL is successfully uploaded into Airline Choice and distributed to the necessary systems
  • Monitor to ensure submission of all pre-departure and post-departure APIS messages
  • Manually format southbound APIS information and upload it to Airline Choice for certain flights, vet passengers and transmit the passenger APIS
  • Assist stations and Sunwing staff with DCS functionality questions
  • Ensure proper entry of document information - particularly passengers with secondary travel documents
  • Ensure correct procedure is followed in the DCS to resolve passenger issues related to interactive APIS and US secure flight
  • Extract schedule information from AIMS and upload it into Airline Choice
  • Other duties as assigned

What You'll Need:

  • Fluent in spoken and written English (Bilingual; Spanish/French) an asset
  • Must be able to obtain a Transport Canada security clearance
  • Understanding and operational knowledge of the airline industry, including practical experience of airline operations.
  • Ability to meet short deadlines
  • Ability to organize and prioritize, including multi-tasking and time management
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Flexibility and personal time commitment - available to work on a rotating 24/7 schedule
  • Ability to maintain confidentially
