Essential Responsibilities
Technical
responsibility for airborne, maritime, land ISTAR and communications
system integration development and support to all assigned
projects/products designed at L3Harris WESCAM
Leadership and
guidance of an engaged, high performing engineering team to meet or exceed
company goals.
Participate in
technical design reviews to ensure system design integrity is achieved.
Develop Integrated
systems engineering capability by identifying opportunities for growth,
specialty training and innovation.
Develop and
maintain the integrated systems engineering design practices, processes
and standards. Work with the Sr Manager, Systems Engineering to identify
risks, issues, opportunities and mitigation.
Estimate and
validate the cost and schedule requirements of assigned system integration
design work packages.
Source, develop
and manage external system integration design resources to meet
fluctuating resource requirements
Work with the Sr.
Manager of Systems Engineering to create and flow down engineering goals
to the team.
Provide the
required metrics, reports and performance measures to the Sr. Manager of
Systems Engineering.
Provide systems
integration technical support to other areas of the organization outside
engineering.
Develop a strong
presence across the organization to maximize collaboration and synergy on
cross functional projects and initiatives to meet company commitments.
Participate as an
engineering and company representative in meetings with suppliers and
customers.
Select and
maintain systems engineering tools to maximize efficiency of the product
development process.
Develop concept of
operations documents and work with Manager, Requirements and Architecture,
to ensure functional requirements and initial systems architectures are
identified.
Monitor and
Control Integrated Systems Engineering tasks, balance labour demand and
create the flexibility to respond to changing load while meeting
commitments.
Support the PMO in
the conduct and execution of customer funded projects and programs by
ensuring estimates are valid, risks are identified and managed, and work
is executed on time and on budget.
Lead group in
authoring and implementing ISO 15288 compliant systems engineering
sub-processes as assigned by Sr. Manager Systems Engineering.
Support Lean Six
Sigma and Continuous Improvement initiatives
Other duties as
assigned by the Sr. Manager Systems Engineering

Qualifications
Bachelor
of Engineering Degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Engineering
Physics, Software)
Advanced
Engineering Degree (desirable)
Experience with
Lean Six Sigma
Experience in
designing to commercial and military standards (MIL-STD/DEF-STAN)
PMP Certified
(desirable)
5-10 years of
experience managing/leading teams
Must be able to
hold NATO SECRET clearance
Preferred
Additional Skills
Proven
understanding of Systems Engineering principals.
Familiar with the
installation and integration of complex military electronic equipment.
DOORS or
equivalent requirements management tool
Well-developed
communication and interpersonal skills
Strong project and
technical management skills
5+ years of either
Land or Maritime Engineering Experience (desirable)
Knowledge of cyber
security (desirable)
Demonstrated
ability to lead and engage a high performing engineering team to
successfully meet goals.
Track record of
establishing strong relationships with leaders across the organization to
get things done.
Track record for
successfully assessing and hiring the best talent for the team.
Successful
estimation and execution of complex system design work packages.
Development of
team performance measures and metrics.
Design,
implementation and validation of complex platform systems, subsystems and
products.
Excellent written,
verbal and presentation skills.
