Position Overview:

Reporting to the POST Manager, the POST Supervisor will oversee the employee development process and facilitate training opportunities in partnership with production management to meet the Program / Company Employee Development objectives.

What You Will Do:

  • Work collaboratively with production and the training team to design and/or source training solutions.
  • Consult with Programs and production departments to determine training requirements.
  • Hiring process; as part of a hiring team you are tasked with reviewing/selecting resumes for interviews for unionized production employees.
  • Oversee new employee induction process; development plan progression, clocking discipline, probationary reports, etc.
  • Assist with the creation and modification of employee development plans to meet performance objectives as required.
  • Ensure employees receive regular progress updates in relation to their employee development plans, and employee development goals.
  • Monitor OJT Training hours in relation to development plan objectives
  • Completes required reports and related documents promptly and accurately
  • Assist the team in documenting work instructions, and Standard Plant Procedures
  • Exercise due diligence in Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) related issues and promptly escalate in accordance with OHS policies and procedures.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned

What You Will Bring:

  • Applicants must have a working knowledge of MS Office products and be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of the information and data systems in place at IMP Aerospace.
  • Graduate of a recognized Canadian aircraft maintenance or apprenticeship program, or qualified as an Aviation or Avionics Technician with the Canadian Forces, considered an asset.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of the electronic TQR system and discipline breakdown structure.
  • This position requires a working knowledge of Labour Relations and Union environments as it will involve supervising union members.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement, Lean & 8S activities in your area.
  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to IMP Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies, continually focusing on safety complying with all Federal Health and Safety Legislation.
  • Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Secret Level II Security Clearance through PSPC- Contract Security Program, and Transport Canada RAIC clearance.
