This position manages an integrated project team (IPT) of experienced professionals across functions (engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, finance, quality, etc) and manages multiple customer programs of varying size. Manages program value-stream strategy through the bid, negotiation, award, and fulfillment stages. Develops and manages the project plans to execute the program, including recommending solutions for program problems. Manages the P&L of programs including all subcontracted work. Provides customer invoices and follows up on their level of satisfaction.

Primary Responsibilities:

General:

  • Serves as the face of the organization to customers.
  • Directs all program phases from inception through completion.
  • Oversees overall operational performance and success.
  • Responsible for the accountability of the workforce in organizational operations and customer projects.

Business Development:

  • Interfaces with customers for statement of work and develops project specifications to ensure successful completion.
  • Together with Business Development leadership coordinates negotiation, proposal development, business plans, budgets and contracts.
  • Champions proposed programs through internal Collins Management System approval processes.

Project Management:

  • Rolls out newly awarded or modified contracts within the organization.
  • Together with leadership forms cross-functional teams to execute the program.
  • Guides team through internal Collins Management System execution approval gates.
  • Develops program plans, schedules, milestones, budgets, for programs to ensure that the organization's objectives are met.
  • Manages the contract lifecycle, cost, schedule and performance of company programs.
  • Establishes appropriate program metrics and targets and directs work to achieve these targets.
  • Manages the P&L of the program to ensure profitability targets are met.
  • Consolidates and presents plans and progress reports relating to business aspects of the program(s), and manages value-stream strategy and progress.
  • Identifies and reacts to program problems and recommends solutions, such as allocation of resources, changing contractual specifications, and coordinating responses to customer action items.
  • Together with Finance, invoices customer at appropriate milestones.
  • Collects customer satisfaction data and develops action plans to improve.

Ongoing:

  • Monitors strategic planning efforts for medium and/or complex programs.
  • Demonstrates continuous improvement initiatives to optimize efficiency and quality.
  • Captures Lessons Learned during course of program execution and shares with appropriate leadership and team members

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of prior relevant experience OR
  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years’ experience OR
  • In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required
  • Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws / regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Program/Project Management Background preferred
  • Aerospace industry experience is preferred
  • Prior Supervisory experience is preferred.
