JOB OVERVIEW

The qualified individual will be responsible for appropriate aspects of avionics modification projects (project management, design, certification, etc.) and supporting customers for the resolution of issues pertaining to design data interpretation and design deviations. The incumbent will be familiar with engineering and regulatory procedures and processes for the development and approval of avionics designs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design electrical and avionics system installations and modifications
  • Develop design documents for demonstrating compliance to the appropriate regulations
  • Liaise with equipment vendors for modification development and/or avionics troubleshooting
  • Liaise with Transport Canada for design approval
  • Develop functional tests which ensure proper operation of equipment
  • Participate in modification certification test programs
  • Aid in troubleshooting of aircraft electrical and avionics systems
  • Manage available resources to achieve assigned project goals

REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree in Electrical or Avionics Engineering
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience preferred
  • Willing to work extra hours when required
  • Able to work independently in an office environment
  • Experience with MS Office necessary
  • AutoCAD experience considered an asset
  • Previous Transport Canada delegation would be considered an asset
