JOB OVERVIEW

The Maintenance Controller is a front-line leader with a proven technical background reporting to the Fleet Maintenance Manager responsible to manage and control maintenance on the Fleet aircraft during all operations. The Maintenance Controller is expected to demonstrate effective and efficient leadership, project management skills, customer service orientation, and technical proficiency.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensuring the airworthiness of the company’s fleet is maintained, and communicated as the status changes.
  • Serving as the central point of contact for operational aircrew, dispatch, and maintenance for technical and logistical assistance.
  • Collaborating with line maintenance, Operations, Fleet Maintenance Manager, and the Stores department to formulate and evaluate recovery plans during irregular operations.
  • Initiating aircraft swaps when necessary to meet maintenance goals and making decisions regarding discrepancies/deferrals.
  • Exercising authority and responsibility for supervising and coordinating all line scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
  • Authorize the use of the Minimum Equipment List (MEL) and other deferrals.
  • Produce a daily Fleet status report accessible to key stakeholders.
  • Formulate and co-ordinate “IROP” execution with all departments along with Flight Ops and Line maintenance.
  • Liaise with outstations for overnight maintenance regarding aircraft readiness.
  • Ensure that work has been completed and the logbook has been correctly completed and concise regarding work accomplished.
  • Verify that all deferred items are in accordance with the time limit authorized by MEL and ensure that all maintenance and operational restrictions are following KF Aerospace MPM and MCM documents.
  • Meticulously record technical delays and actively participate in the Weekly Technical Delay review, contributing recommendations for preventing similar future events
  • Confirming parts requirements for deferrals and monitoring their status
  • Support the accomplishment of planned maintenance and preplanning of maintenance in conjunction with the maintenance planers.
  • Coordinate maintenance ferry flights in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Generating accurate and comprehensive shift turnover reports
  • Identifying safety concerns, issues, incidents, or hazards and reporting them through the company's Safety Management System (SMS) program

SAFTEY:

  • Ensuring safe work practices, policies and procedures are followed
  • Understanding and applying the Safety Management System
  • Maintaining good housekeeping standards
  • Understanding and applying safe handling practices with the aircraft

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a licensed AME mechanic
  • Experience in a supervisory/leadership capacity preferred
  • Possess a 737NG Type Endorsement/ACA
  • Willing to participate in ongoing training and development as per their Individual Development Plan
  • Have Ground Operating License (AVOP’s) if required.
  • Working knowledge of the types of aircraft and systems supported by KF Aerospace Air Charter
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Canadian Air Regulations (CARs)
  • Thorough understanding of KF Aerospace organizational systems and workflow
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Willing to take initiative to make personal and organizational improvements.
  • Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, IPC, Wiring diagrams, Airworthiness Directives, engineering drawings, and procedure manuals.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Able to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
  • Able to organize others to achieve desired results in an effective manner.
  • Intermediate level of proficiency using Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills required.
  • Must be able to work rotational shift work.
