WHAT THE ROLE ENTAILS:

Reporting to the Director, Revenue Management, the RM & Pricing Analyst monitors and establishes inventory levels based on revenue data of passenger loads, capacity, group bookings, and demand in order to maximize revenues using forecast optimization tools. They are responsible for developing short- and long-term pricing strategies for fares and ancillary products for the airline. You will be developing competitive, revenue-optimizing strategies for the airlines’ fares and ancillary products across the entire network, including bags, seats, fees, product bundles, etc. as well as management of the revenue forecast and ancillary revenue and pricing systems. The RM & Pricing Analyst is also responsible for maintaining awareness of competitive issues within assigned markets and making recommendations for necessary adjustments.

WHAT THE ROLE ENTAILS:

They are responsible for developing short- and long-term pricing strategies for fares and ancillary products for the airline. You will be developing competitive, revenue-optimizing strategies for the airlines’ fares and ancillary products across the entire network, including bags, seats, fees, product bundles, etc. as well as management of the revenue forecast and ancillary revenue and pricing systems. The RM & Pricing Analyst is also responsible for maintaining awareness of competitive issues within assigned markets and making recommendations for necessary adjustments.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and maximizes revenue by developing and implementing interdepartmental strategies through quantitative analysis of historical passenger demand, the competitive environment, and consumer buying behaviour.
  • Optimizes and validates forecasted demand of similar and disparate market sets.
  • Analyzes market influences, evaluates market historical performance, identifies market demand patterns, and performs trend analysis.
  • Recommends and implements market/flight-level inventory allocation strategies based on conclusions of analyses.
  • Audits, monitors and refines individual progress toward market goals and strategies.
  • Consistently analyzes competitive landscape, paying attention to fare and schedule changes.
  • Participate in the creation of regular reports for senior management.
  • Analyze the potential of and recommend, if appropriate, extra lift/schedule changes/market connections.
  • Develop competitive fare and ancillary revenue initiatives and programs to maximize revenue and provide industry-leading product solutions.
  • Analyzes demand and customer behaviour related to fares and ancillary products and implements pricing strategies.
  • Manage and administer the process of implementing fare filings in ATPCO.
  • Examines changes in market conditions such as new competition, merchandising platforms, and selling dynamics to develop appropriate responses to ancillary programs.
  • Oversight of tactical and strategic pricing actions and monitors and reacts to competitive pricing actions.
  • Analyzing booking patterns using data analysis, modelling research optimization, and other optimization parameters, identifying trends, outliers, and/or additional revenue opportunities in constantly evolving market conditions.
  • Implements business processes and revenue improvements by creating procedures for measurement, upkeep, and revision of priced products.
  • Tracks ancillary performance and reports revenue trends to senior management.
  • Coordinates cross-department planning and execution for ancillary revenue fees, product pricing, and policies with key stakeholders.
  • Works to continually improve the customer experience in shopping/purchasing for ancillary products.
  • Constantly monitors competitor websites for fares and other competitive programs.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics or Finance.
  • Aviation Management or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills, including the ability to assemble information, extract pertinent facts, draw logical conclusions, and present recommendations.
  • Proven success in financial planning, budgeting, and PnL.
  • Working knowledge in business intelligence – data mining, analytics, data cleansing, report conversion.
  • Ability to efficiently summarize variances and present recommendations to management.
  • Must be able to independently identify a problem area and sift through multiple data sources.
  • Understands the application of principles, concepts, and practices of RM theory.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • High proficiency in Excel as well as knowledge of all other MS Office suite products.
  • Willingness to take calculated risks.
  • Ability to work well within a team environment.
  • Entrepreneurial attitude, able to take ownership and deliver results while working with little supervision.
  • Experience with Airline Pricing and Revenue Management tools (ATPCO, PROS, etc.) is considered a strong asset.
  • Presentation skills and solutions design delivery, translating ideas into reality.
