An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Technical Operations Training & Qualification department for a Coordinator. Working under the direction of the Training and Qualifications Manager, the Coordinator will ensure efficient scheduling of training for the Technical Operations team. The successful candidate will deliver overall administrative support for Technical Operations Training Program as well as WestJet's Approved Training Organization (ATO) to maintain compliance with WestJet's Maintenance Control Manual (MCM), WestJet ATO's Training Policy Manual (TPM) and the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs).

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for tracking Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) licenses and Aircraft Certification Authorities (ACA) to ensure compliance with the CARs and WestJet's Maintenance Control Manual.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely tracking of all maintenance training.
  • Responsible for reporting any noncompliance of the CARs to the Manager - Training and Qualifications.
  • Carry out day-to-day audit functions related to the ATO to ensure compliance with the Transport Canada approved TPM.
  • Coordinate with Technical Operations Managers and Aircraft Maintenance Leads to ensure that maintenance personnel are appropriately scheduled into required training courses.
  • Create training schedules as required.
  • Ensure instructors, classrooms, training materials and equipment are available and booked appropriately for scheduled courses.
  • Enter accurate training records into TRAX and distribute reports as appropriate.
  • Update and add amendments to departmental and training manuals.
  • Prepare reports, memos, and communications using MS office products.
  • Organize and maintain an efficient and accurate filing system.
  • Track and order office supplies and training materials.
  • Liaison with external training vendors.
  • Various other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Prior aviation experience with a working knowledge of CARs is an asset.
  • Two years administration experience in a fast-paced office environment; Office Management Diploma or equivalent is an asset.
  • Previous experience with TRAX (WestJet's Computer Maintenance Tracking System) is an asset.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Power BI, Outlook and Word).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to draft professional, thorough, accurate reports and various other departmental communications.
  • Demonstrated team player with exemplary interpersonal skills able to work independently when necessary in a department with ever changing priorities.
  • Proven success in multi-tasking, strategic and creative planning and prioritizing, and a strong attention to detail is essential.
