A long-standing Canadian niche software company in Mississauga is seeking a Vice President, Product Management, Support & Implementation

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Aviation and / or equivalent University education in Engineering
  • Excellent English written and oral communication and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of German and other languages an asset
  • Self-motivated and results oriented
  • Willingness to travel globally in support of existing and future customers

Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years experience in Aviation Maintenance and Engineering
  • Product Management experience in software for aircraft maintenance and engineering
  • Customer Support experience in aircraft maintenance software for airlines and MRO's
  • Customer Proposals/Agreements authoring and Post -Sales follow up
  • Customer training on software set up and use
  • Minimum 10 years Development and software testing experience: contemporary and legacy software technologies
  • Product documentation/on-line Help, authoring
  • Minimum of 5 years in integration of M&E Systems with Digital Content Management Software
  • Minimum of 5 years in Aviation maintenance technical documentation and digital content management systems like DigiDOC, ****@*., Navigator, Toolbox
  • Project Management experience – 10 years
  • Software development staff direction and supervision – 10 years
  • Knowledge of contemporary and legacy development tools and technologies: Java, Javascript, XML, CSS, SVG, Perl, PHP, CGI, COBOL, Visual Basic, C-ISAM, Tomcat, Apache, SQL, MS Access, SGML, PDF, XLS(X), ACC(X), MS Office Applications, DOS, Windows, Unix
  • Data Conversion and integration from one system to another
  • Customer Relationship Management – 10 years
  • Expertise in Regulatory Agency requirements in Europe (EASA, CAA) and North America (FAA, TC) and their updates with respect to Commercial/ Civil Aviation
  • Knowledge of Industry standards in ATA/ISO for digital documents (iSPEC2200, S1000D, SPEC2300, SPEC2500, SPEC42, ATA100, ATA200…)

Job Details:

Product Management

  • Functional enhancement and integration of three distinct products: DigiMAINT, DigiDOC, WebPMI
  • Functional review as Regulations by FAA 121, EASA 145, CAA evolve
  • Functional review as Standards evolve (SPEC2000, iSPEC2200, S1000D, SPEC2300, SPEC2500, SPEC42
  • Functional enhancement as technologies evolve (mobile, Cloud)
  • Functional enhancement as competitive products evolve.

Pre-Sales Support

  • Major participant in the sales process in Product Demonstrations, Proposal preparations, Customer pricing/financial plans varying from $100,000 to over $1,000,000.
  • Final Contract editing and review

Implementation

  • When engaged with customer projects, to manage the on-site and off-site effort in implementing initial software installations, major upgrades and enhancements, and associated services such as data conversion, validation, training and support are required
  • Coordinate resource needs with Director of Development
  • Obtaining 'sign-off' from the customer that the job is complete.
  • Overall Project Management of Implementation

Customer Support

  • On an ongoing basis, review Customer 'tickets' submitted 24X7X365 (defects or functional requests) through Aerosoft's online systems, emails and telephone calls
  • Ensure that issues are validated and assigned to the development resources in coordination with the Director of Development

Customer Liaison Responsibilities

  • Review customer satisfaction and validate any and all associated payment issues
  • Remain vigilant in Customer's business status (growth, financial challenges, etc.)

Staff Reporting to VP

  • Currently 3 staff reporting likely to grow to 4- each a specialist in support of the DigiMAINT, WebPMI, and DigiDOC products

Position Reporting to:

  • President and CEO
  • Staff interfacing with / Peer: Director of Development, Administration Manager/Accounting

Compensation and Benefits

  • This is a permanent salaried position with group benefits including dental, medical, vision, long term disability.
  • Compensation of CAD $120,000, subject to annual increases and bonus based on company and individual performance.
