Profile

The Chief Engineer, Projects will be responsible for projects and people leadership, innovation, and the delivery of a safe, effective design leading to the successful delivery of projects and aircraft on-time and on-budget.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for building and leading an engaged and highly effective team that drives for Engineering result and provides support to all areas of the business
  • Responsible for all aspects of Project Management , including visibility and governance, capacity and resource planning, budget management, cross-site coordination, consolidating and reporting risks, any required performance analytics, scheduling and planning of Engineering milestones and reviews
  • Provide governance showing details of projects in work and completed, including actual to budgets, forecasts, capacity planning and corrective actions where needed
  • Evaluate existing processes for improvement or implements new processes where needed
  • Resource planning; compromising of resource onboarding, development and project assignment
  • Support an environment of cross-functional collaboration, transparency and accountability

Education and Professional Qualifications

  • Business, Engineering or Management Degree
  • Project Management PMP Certification
  • Leadership Training

Experience

  • Experience in project management, project scope, time, cost, quality, human resource & stakeholders management, project communications and risk management
  • Experience working with customer and consulting engineering organizations.
  • Financial acumen, and understanding of variation, adjustment and change project process.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, engage, and manage tasking of cross-functional teams of varying skills/experience,
  • Success with multi-tasking across multiple projects at given time,
  • Ability to communicate complex Engineering Project details concisely both internally and externally

  • Highly developed people and relationship skills with demonstrated ability to work in a multi disciplined professional team environment communicating and motivating effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Dedicated to promoting an effective, innovative and collaborative team atmosphere and culture with engaged and enthusiastic team throughout Canada
  • Able to provide clear project execution guidance with unambiguous reporting , clear processes and expectations defined
  • An ability to think on-the-fly leading to finding innovative and creative solutions to challenges and problems
  • Attention to thorough governance and visibility processes with forward-looking risk management
