Established in 1998, St. John's International Airport Authority (SJIAA) is a private, not-for-profit corporation that exists to provide a safe and efficient transportation facility that is a catalyst for economic growth at Newfoundland and Labrador's premier gateway. Approximately 70 per cent of all non-resident visitors who travel by air to and from the province do so through the St. John's International Airport. SJIAA is currently looking for its next Director, Information Communication and Technology. The Director, Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) is a key senior management position reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The successful candidate will be responsible for the achievement of strategic objectives and will provide guidance and recommendations to the CEO and the Board of Directors regarding integrated communication and information technologies. 

STRATEGIC ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • You will ensure the operational integrity and effectiveness of all integrated ICT processes, databases and systems
  • Prepare, track and control annual operating and capital budgets to achieve the Authority's strategic objectives.
  • Develop ICT policies and procedures in consultation with other stakeholders.

OPERATIONAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Responsible for the ICT department, including infrastructure, applications, resources and resource management.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the Senior Leadership Team by building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders to develop a clear understanding of operational needs; ensure cost-effective delivery of information technology services to meet current and future needs and respond with agility to changing service provision priorities.
  • Assess the organization's current capability and future opportunities while balancing short-term improvements and long-term value.
  • Support key projects that are at various stages and ensure successful delivery of solutions through effective prioritization, issue management, and communication with stakeholders and the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Maintain current knowledge of technology landscape and developments, particularly as it relates to airport operations.
  • Implement and maintain robust security processes and related resources to protect the integrity of the Authority's ICT systems and data facilities.
  • Protect the Authority's assets and all proprietary information. 
  • Responsible for SJIAA information security by ensuring that all reasonable measures are implemented to mitigate risks.
  • Track, analyze, and monitor technology performance metrics and work with various stakeholders to continually improve performance and outcomes.
  • Ensure that existing programs are functioning optimally, and necessary updates are made.
  • Monitor all information and data management activities.
  • Provide systems and processes that enable all reported issues to be resolved quickly and efficiently.
  • Negotiate with tenants, consultants and vendors in the implementation of ICT services related to cost sharing, cost recovery, implementation of and usage of those services.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or relevant field • Minimum 5 years' of ICT Senior Leadership Experience
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience of progressive ICT experience in Infrastructure / Networking / Software Development and IT Support environment
  • Experience with IT Risk management
  • Ability to collaboratively understand the organization's vision and strategy and translate into effective enterprise change
  • Proven experience implementing enterprise level applications
  • Experience with application development, and system integration 
  • Experience with monitoring / support / diagnostic tools
  • Experience with high level network and information system design
  • Superior troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Superior written and oral communications skills
  • Strong  leadership, relationship-building and interpersonal skills
