Director, Business Development & Marketing

Established in 1998, St. John's International Airport Authority is a private, not-for-profit corporation that exists to provide a safe and efficient transportation facility that is a catalyst for economic growth at Newfoundland and Labrador's premier gateway. St. John's International Airport is located in the city of St. John's, the province of Newfoundland and Labrador's capital city.  Approximately 70 per cent of all non-resident visitors who travel by air to and from the province do so through the St. John's International Airport, and the Airport therefore plays a significant role in facilitating the economic growth and development of the region. The St. John's International Airport Authority is currently looking for its next Director, Business Development & Marketing.

This key senior management position reports to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and is responsible for providing guidance and recommendations to the CEO and the Board of Directors regarding business development, marketing and associated contract management, community relations and communications policies, issues and strategic direction.  The successful candidate is personally accountable for the achievement of strategic objectives related to business growth, air service development, passenger satisfaction and brand development.

As the ideal candidate, you possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in business, with a Master's being preferred.  You have at least 10 years experience in business development, marketing, public relations and communications and have a thorough knowledge of marketing and strategic planning, preferably in the aviation industry.  The ideal candidate also has substantial supervisory experience and exceptional leadership abilities along with a strong ethical standard and has excellent planning skills with the ability to prioritize workloads efficiently.  Excellent oral, written and presentation skills, as well as excellent public and media relations skills are required.
