As a member of our flight operations team, you assume the imperative and responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of our Twin Otter fleet, working for a company that is the lifeline for the Indigenous communities of Labrador. Exploring the Big Land, you’ll come to work in some of the most beautiful and remote places in Canada.

Air Borealis is currently seeking qualified applicants for a Dispatcher rotating out of Voisey’s Bay.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct aerodrome weather and runway surface conditions assessments;
  • Conduct aerodrome runway and equipment inspections;
  • Relay flight information upon request to arriving and departing flights;
  • The correct completion of all procedures as outlined in this SOP;
  • Flight tracking of charter flights;
  • Coordinate cargo, passenger information, and manifests to applicable stations and operations centres;
  • The completion of all administrative duties related to flight tracking, cargo, passenger information, routine procedures, weather, aerodrome and manifests;
  • Answer queries related to weather, daily flights and cargo or refer the person to the correct point of contact;
  • The coordination of the Air operator emergency response and VALE’s Emergency Response plan;
  • Other related duties as required.


  • Previous experience as an aviation Dispatcher is considered an asset;
  • The ability to read and interpret weather is required;
  • Must have flexibility to accommodate with short notice;
  • Must have demonstrated ability for quick thinking, sound judgement, and adaptability;
  • Proven ability to work under pressure;
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills;
  • The ability to work independently is required;
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Aviation and Aerodrome knowledge would be an asset;
  • Currently hold an Industry Canada Restricted Radio certificate would be an asset.
